Gunners Shot Down The Seabass

by Wadud Yussop.

The second match for Tuesday's K-League was scheduled for a match between K-Gunners and Selungsung FC. This was a match that everybody was looking forward to watching as both teams are known to have strong players. Unlike the other 8 teams that are competing in the K-League, Selungsung FC is the only veteran team that has been participating in the K-League for a continuous 3 years. They are a two time semi-finalist and this time round, they are planning to put their name in the winning list. Maybe, they might have a chance to win this time.

The match started at 4:00PM. The match started off strongly with captains from both team, Abdul Hadi and Faiz Afif from K-Gunners and Selungsung FC respectively, being competitive since the start of the match. The match was so competitive that the score stayed 0-0 until the whistle for half time was blown.

As the second half of the match got to a start, the players of K-Gunners was aiming to open the score sheet first. On that day, the supporters of the match got to see two wonderful free kicks at PTEK's field. The first one was from the first match earlier that day with Pisako FC going against Starjan and the second was from Abdul Hadi Abdullah who scored the first goal for K-Gunners and the first goal of the match after 10 minutes into second half. He was the top scorer for last year's K-League and it seems like he is looking to keeping that title. The day got worse for Selungsung FC as Faiz Afif's scored an own goal due to his backpass going too high for the keeper to reach. Abu, a player also from Selungsung FC, also received a yellow card that day for a hard tackle on a K-Gunners player. The final score of the match was 2-0 with K-Gunners as winners.

It was a hard loss for the players of Selungsung FC but they surely will come back strong. This match was refereed by Ron Junior Phillip and the man of the match award goes to Mateen Qusyairi from K-Gunners after a brilliant form at the backline.
